You know his music (and probably frequently sing it in the shower!), but do you know the man behind some of Disney's greatest hits?  Hey Disnerds, The second installment in my Meet the Mind series is John Lasseter! Lasseter has been involved with Disney for years, and is the Chief Creative Officer at Pixar. He has influenced almost every movie Pixar has released, and so many Disney films as well. Check him out:  Also, as a bonus, I found one of Lasseter's first short films, created when he was a student at Cal Arts! He debuted the film in 1980, and it has some very similar qualities to a Pixar film about two lovable monsters. Also, he did all of the sound effects himself and it's adorable! One of my main problems with Disney fans is that we often forget the people behind the movies, all of the animators and writers who bring our favorite tales to life. Because of that, this new series will be focusing on some of the amazing and important people behind the Disney films, starting off with legendary director, producer, and writer Pete Docter!  |
