The happiest blog on Earth
Hello lovely readers, Welcome to the new year; it will be one full of exciting opportunities for all Disney fans! Check out all of the events under the Read More break. MoviesWalt Disney Studios Motion Pictures has a huge lineup of movies ready for 2017, ranging from animated films to superhero flicks. March 17: Beauty and the Beast The long-awaited live-action remake will finally arrive in theaters in the middle of March. Starring Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast, the remake is sure to be magical. May 5: Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 The sequel to the hit Guardians of the Galaxy comes out in May to enthrall us with more classic rock, witty lines, and an adorable baby Groot. May 26: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales To be perfectly honest, I have no idea why they're making a fifth one of these movies, but let's embrace it anyway. Jack Sparrow returns to fight off a ghost sailor (Javier Bardem) and look for the mystical Trident of Poseidon in late May. June 16: Cars 3 Oh boy does this movie look dramatic. Lightning McQueen takes his place back on the track with the help of a race technician and some majorly dramatic twists and turns. November 3: Thor: Ragnarok The next movie in the Thor series, this film will follow a race to save Asgard and features the return of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and a major cameo from the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). November 22: Coco I'll have to admit that I am probably most excited for Coco, Pixar's newest film which tells the story of a boy who journeys through the Land of the Dead to discover secrets about his family's heritage. It looks absolutely gorgeous and seems very sweet. December 15: Star Wars: Episode VIII While we don't know exactly what this film will be about yet, you can bet it will be stellar. ParksBeginning January 2: The ultimate Star Wars tour Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World announced the addition of a new seven hour tour starting in 2017. It covers all of the Star Wars-themed attractions in the park, including two live stage shows (Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away and March of the First Order), Jedi training for kids, a screening of Star Wars: Path of the Jedi, a ride on Star Tours, greeting Kylo Ren and Chewbacca, digging into delicious themed food at Backlot Express and Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party, buying souvenirs at the launch bay, and a viewing of Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. Starting January 20: Return of Main Street Electrical Parade Welcome back the nostalgia at Disneyland with the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade for a limited time. Summer: Opening of Pandora — The World of Avatar Explore the world of the critically-acclaimed film Avatar at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom this summer, including the Satu'li Canteen, Windtraders gift shop, Na'vi River Journey, and the Avatar Flight of Passage. Summer: Opening of Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission Breakout! Though we're all gutted at losing The Twilight Zone: Tower of Terror (and hoping that we can keep the one in Orlando), the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride, which takes place in the museum of the mysterious Collector, looks to be an action-packed rescue ride sure to please. TelevisionSummer: DuckTales Get excited for the revival of the classic show featuring a stellar new cast including David Tennant, Ben Schwartz, Danny Pudi, and Bobby Moynihan. Sometime during the year: Big Hero 6 This spinoff of the movie features all the same characters, and most of the same voice actors, but with the addition of new villains, friends, and other characters picking up right where the movie left off. Sometime during the year: Tangled: The Series We've been waiting a while for this show, but 2017 will finally bring the new Tangled TV series! With both Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore reprising their roles and an adorable art style, it is sure to be a nonstop adventure. It looks like 2017 will be a very exciting year!
